I Doubt Even The Clouds

Sometimes I look at the horizon and see dark clouds loom,
I wonder if wilted flowers will ever bloom,
If a new day is a new chance,
For a cripple to dance,
Then I wonder if wishes can come true,
Or just another addition to the lies they tell you.

Sometimes I look at the sky with white clouds floating about,
Suddenly I’m filled with doubt,
I wonder if they are true,
Or just another addition to the lies they tell you.

I look at everything I see
And doubt fills me
Are the things that surround me real
Or layers upon layers of skin I have to peel
I wonder if they are true
Or just another addition to the lies they tell you.

I don’t trust anyone, not even you
You lied to me too,
Over and over,
You tried to cover,
The truth that would’ve set me free,
But you didn’t think of me
You weren’t true,
You were just another addition to the liars around you.
