Green Eyes

I have done this before and more,
Yet nothing feels enough,
I always find another door closing,
Before I can even knock.

I swear I hear my heart beat,
My fear echoing in my ear,
I’ve walked a million miles,
And yet I’m still here.

I scream from the peak of mountains,
Without having to climb,
It’s cold and isolated,
There is so much time.

Walk a million miles,
Jump a thousand feet,
No one will smile,
And instead be filled with bitter envy.
