Cry Me A River

I find similarities in two different photos,
Unnoticeable and subtle,
Lost in the shadows,
Yet without a valid rebuttal.

The same color and shade,
Following the same direction,
Shattered and disarrayed,
It’s like looking at my own reflection.

The same slopes and angles,
Tangled in threads,
Too intricate to dismantle,
Yet it’s all in our heads.

When will you notice,
The water flowing down the river,
To a place that’s hopeless,
Where it will be trapped forever.
